The Babeking Popular Science exhibition on harmful
On May 21, 2017, at the opening ceremony of the 2017 Childhood Guard & Green Angel—Reassuring Mosquito Repelling & Constant Protection Babeking Harmful Insect Popular Science Exhibition supported by the China Women’s Development Foundation and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention was held in Guangzhou. It was the opening of a Popular Science event on harmful insects that fit the “kid vision” best at a height of 1.5 meters. A variety of specimens, interesting mosquito repelling experiments, and an interactive Question & Answer segment with great prizes attracted a large number of parents and kids. These activities gave them a deeper understanding and knowledge on harmful insects and mosquito repelling practices.
Popular Science education from kids’ perspectives
Statistics show that mosquitoes kill over 2.6 million people globally every year; one person dies from a mosquito-borne disease, on average, every 12 seconds. In view of the fact that parents and kids had known little about harmful insects and their disease prevention, Babeking had organized a series of Popular Science education activities together with the China Women’s Development Foundation and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention within the last four years. This gave Babeking the opportunity to share basic knowledge on mosquito repelling and disease prevention with the public. Babeking is educating children this year by using 1.5-meter-high booths that are set especially for them to be able to observe harmful insects from the best perspective.
At this exhibition, Babeking brought various specimens of mosquitoes and other insects for display at a height that was suitable for kids to view. These exhibits allowed them to observe these insects with microscopes and magnifiers from multiple perspectives, to learn their living habits, and to master proper mosquito repelling practices by using customized experiments. In addition, a disease control expert appeared at the exhibition to cover existing misconceptions on mosquito repelling, and a dancing teacher taught a mosquito repelling dance for a fun class on self-protection from harmful insects.
During the exhibition, funny, interactive games were available on the spot. These games allowed kids to win prizes while mastering mosquito repelling knowledge and practices.
Also at the exhibition, a head representative of Babeking said, “Mosquitoes and other harmful insects had become the greatest threat to kids. Babeking expects to educate kids and parents on the hazards of mosquitoes, flies, fleas, and other harmful insects, to protect them from mosquito-borne diseases, and to help ensure their safety and health through Popular Science education activities.
Building a Mosquito Repelling Educational Matrix through Multiple Channels
In addition to the Popular Science exhibition, Babeking also launched a series of mosquito repelling educational activities to build a solid mosquito repelling educational matrix before this year’s active mosquito phase begins. The “Mothers’ Anti-mosquito League” was founded by Babeking one year ago and had its image and content upgraded to attract more participants to mosquito repelling and disease prevention activities. Head representative from Babeking said that mosquito repelling knowledge would be shared with more children and parents in urban and rural areas to minimize the threat of mosquitoes and other insects to kids.
Recently, Babeking aired a live broadcast with popular Yummy Mummy and cartoonist Chau Yueyue at Superb Lab This broadcast, which busted many common myths on mosquito repelling in daily life, attracted up to 70,000 viewers.
In order to draw more attention to mosquito-borne diseases, Babeking initiated a mosquito repellent event to challenge a Guinness World Record™. Any Internet user, who completed a health activity and received a challenge on H5, would become one of the challengers of this mosquito repellent event. To date, this event has attracted 15,368 participants.
Although mosquitoes are small, there are great hazards associated with them. In addition to biting as everyone is aware of, they spread diseases, such as Zika, yellow fever, dengue, and encephalitis B. As many as 2.6 million people are killed by mosquitoes globally each year. As a generally recognized expert in botanical mosquito repelling, Babeking is committed to protecting kids from mosquitoes and other harmful insects by extracting active and effective mosquito repellents from plants. Babeking’s goal has always been to offer healthy, safe, and efficient mosquito repellent products. Babeking will explore more advanced fields under the philosophy of “a botanical, safe and effective mosquito and other insects repellent and neutralizer” Babeking will strive to improve product effectiveness while strengthening Popular Science education. In this way, Babeking wishes to deepen the understanding of mosquito repelling and disease prevention for more mothers and their children. Babeking will always be about to create a healthy living environment for kids.
